In this documentary, Nicola goes on a personal journey to explore the culture of tanning amongst young women and men in the UK, and the extremes they will go to in order to obtain the perfect tan.'

Television Broadcast on Issues in Female portrayal's in the media

Dawn Get's Naked (BBC THREE) www.dawnporter.net
This is where I bared all, in order to reveal how our idea of perfection has been perverted to fit the demands of the beauty industry. In a bid to get to grips with my naked self, I propelled myselff into all manner of uncompromising situations - from hanging out with naturists, to learning a valuable lesson in morality from a Burlesque teacher. Spurred on to try and change attitudes and expectations of the female form, I set about organising, what I hoped would become the ultimate female Flashmob.

Alesha: Look But Don't Touch (BBC THREE) Beauty Season www.bbc.co.uk/beauty
Alesha Dixon looks at the 21st-century perception of beauty. Why are so many pictures airbrushed?

An African Queen

I found this image by Tibor Kalman, it's called 'What if...?' 1993, Its an image of Queen Elizabeth eddited to look as if she is from African heratige. Kalman poses an intriguing question for the readers of a United Colours of Benetton magazine when this image and another of Arnold Schwarzenegger where published.
